We are ending our energy unit when this term ends! It's really quick, and lots of people in our class are enjoying this unit a lot! We learnt about the 2 different types of energies. Potential energy and kinetic energy. Potential energy is when something is still, and it's got stored energy. It's also got the ability to move. So if something has potential energy it can form into kinetic energy as well. Everything has potential energy apart from things that are already moving. There are lots of other different energies to go with these 2 main energies as well. Such as, heat,sound,chemical,nuclear,thermal,geothermal,radiation,solar, light, gravitational and heaps more!
Main Focus
Our main idea was that we can use our knowledge of energy in its changing forms, for our benefit.Our key concepts were form [ what its like, what it looks like], and change [ how is it changing].Our learner profiles were thinker, communicator, and knowledgeable.Our attitudes were co - operation and curiosity.Our key questions during our unit were what is energy, what forms does it take, what are the different forms that energy takes within an energy chain.
What some people learnt about energy
Alex V learnt that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Enya learnt what it is, how it works and the different forms. Jake learnt what it is, how it works, where it can be and that it can be in lots of different forms. Camille learnt the different forms of energy and what it is. Maddie learnt that energy can take in lots of different forms, and that energy is everywhere. Micah learnt that energy can be in tons of different forms, and that energy is everywhere. Chelsea learnt about potential energy and kinetic energy. Maia learnt about the different energies.
They all have learnt lots of different things about energy!
